The Greater Niagara Ballet Company is holding auditions for our Spring Performance of The Firebird. Dates of the performance will be March 15th-March 16th. Auditions will be held at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center (NACC) on Sunday, January 21st. The NACC is located at 1201 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301 (use purple door entrance on Porter Avenue side of the building). Auditions are open to all dancers ages 6 and up.

9:30 Registration opens
10:00 am – 10:30 am Girls & Boys Ages 6 – 9
Dancers needed. Some dance training or stage performance experience required.
Roles Available: Firebird Forest
10:30 am – 11:00am Girls & Boys Ages 10 – 12
Dancers needed. Some dance training or stage performance experience required.
Roles Available: Firebird Forest
11:00am – 11:15am: Teens 13+/Adults
Dancers Needed. Some dance training or performance experience required.
Roles Available: Firebird Forest
11:30am -12:00pm: Ages 11-16
Several years of ballet training required. Those currently training in pointe shoes should bring their shoes into the studio but wear regular ballet slippers into the audition.

12:00pm-12:45pm – Ages 13 – Adults
4+ years of ballet training after the Primary/Creative Movement level. 1+ years of Pointe training required (pointe shoes should be worn into audition) or boys/men with several years of ballet/dance training. Regular ballet slippers should be carried in.
Roles Available: Firebird Forest, Princesses (Firebird), Concerto understudies
*Important Information:
- Everyone auditioning should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled audition times (i.e. for an 12pm audition, you should arrive no later than 11:30am).
- Dancers will be expected to be fully warmed up prior to their audition times. There will be no time during the audition for warming up.
- If you cannot make the audition date, you MUST contact us BEFORE auditions and this must be done through emailing us at gnbcballet@gmail.com to make arrangements to take a class at the GNBC Studio the week prior to the audition date. Arrangements may not be possible post-audition. Please see our Company Class Schedule and Class Descriptions pages for times.
- No one should attend two different audition times. Questions about which audition to attend should be made no later than 24 hours before the audition start time and directed to gnbcballet@gmail.com. Some dancers in the 11:30am audition may be asked to stay for the last audition.
- Most regular rehearsals will be on Sundays starting the first weekend in February. The Firebird will generally run from 10am-1pm and Concerto will generally run from 1-2:30. There will be spacing and dress rehearsals on 3/13 and 3/14 in the evenings at the NACC. Dancers can miss no more than 2 scheduled rehearsals.
